About Me
I have been involved with sports and exercise since I was kid, but it wasn’t until I found CrossFit that I really began to meet my own personal fitness goals.

One of the things I love about CrossFit is that it is very goal-oriented. As an athlete I believe you need to have goals, whether that is to lose weight, or to become stronger or more competitive in your particular sport. Without a determined goal in sight, the pursuit of fitness often becomes a mundane task.

Reaching my fitness goals as an athlete has been what motivates me as a coach to help others reach their own fitness goals. The pursuit of fitness is a journey and it is truly a privilege to come alongside our athletes and participate in the transformations that take place. I love my job!

About Me
My fitness background includes being a cross-country athlete, volleyball player, marathoner and personal trainer. However, nothing has simultaneously pushed me to my limits and grown me as an athlete like CrossFit. I love the energy and strength that I get from CrossFit. As a coach, I thrive on helping others exceed their expectations and develop into the athletes they were meant to be.

About Me
I am a proud graduate of Miami University, where I played Division I Football and earned four varsity letters. After college, I continued to seek out physical challenges such as mixed martial arts, Obstacle Course Races and the occasional half marathon. CrossFit challenges and excites me in a way I haven’t experienced since playing college football.

I absolutely love the fact that you can continue to improve your fitness as you age. As an athlete who was not always the most gifted, I understand how far an individual can advance if he or she is dedicated to working hard. When I was initially introduced to CrossFit, I was quickly humbled. Everyone has a weakness (or several) and I learned we accept the athlete wherever we meet them. All are accepted and welcome, give your best effort…whatever that may be. Also, make sure you work out with people who encourage you and support your development. Ironside is a special place because you can develop as an athlete no matter your level of fitness. The coaches and athletes are fantastic!

Finally, advice I would offer to anyone getting ready to start a CrossFit program; do your best. Whatever you consider your best effort, give it at the box. As your fitness improves, your results will follow.

Form follows function. Come see us at Ironside and we will explain what that means.

About Me

I wasn’t much of an athlete growing up. I played a few seasons of Little League baseball and I was on my high school swim team. I wasn’t anything special and I never really tried to push myself. In college, I trained in martial arts and lifted weights.  Through martial arts I gained self-confidence, conditioning, and a better attitude towards fitness. I found I actually enjoyed fitness and especially weightlifting.

After college, I got out of my routine, got married, had kids, and got lazy.  I lifted weights on my own after a while, but never could force myself to do any cardio. I discovered CrossFit two years ago and I was hooked.  I found it had the weightlifting that I already loved, and the conditioning that I could never force myself to do on my own. Plus, the workout is different every day, so I never feel like I’m just doing the same thing over and over again.

I love the positive support from all the athletes in class.  It doesn’t matter what your fitness level is, everyone encourages each other during the workouts. I just love the fact that the first people done with the workout are also the first people to start cheering everyone else on. Everyone is just trying to be better, faster, and stronger than they were yesterday.

As a trainer, I really enjoy working with the athletes to improve their technique and become more efficient.

About Me

As a young athlete I would not have described myself as coordinated. I participated in the sports where you couldn’t get cut- rec soccer, pick up basketball, track, and cross-country. My main source of fitness was running. I went to college and tried to run almost every day. I did a few half marathons and started to get real bored. I found CrossFit and was immediately hooked. I love that there are always areas that need improvement because there are always weak spots. I love that I can compete not only against other people, but myself. I love that is new every day and not boring. As a coach, I get most excited when people reach goals they did not think they were capable of. I think it is so fun to teach and encourage people to get uncomfortable and go to their limits and ultimately surprise themselves with how great they can be.
